“Meet the Parents”
Most of the kids who are graduating this year have their parents over for the graduation ceremonies – I kind of wish my parents had come by too, just so that they could meet all the others. Most of the families were out at Mozart’s Cafe yesterday, and it was great to meet all of them. Families that were there were Abhinav’s, Amitesh’s and Samarth’s, and although Gaurav’s family was supposed to be there, they ended up having something else to do. All in all, it was an interesting evening – sadly I ruined it by taking all substandard photographs. The best one of the evening was of Sarvesh and it was taken by Sourav – who just has a natural talent for photography.

Sarvesh... fantastically composed picture

Meet Sourav and Neha - the creeper and the dadi-ki-bachhi
I wish I could be half as good as he is. The ambiance at Mozart’s is absolutely wonderful, and yesterday it was that much better because of local Austin artist Amanda Woosely with her wonderful harp music – one of the songs that caught my ear was a rendition of “A Whole New World” from the Alladin soundtrack… good times.
Everyones parents are so much fun – and just like mine, they seem more like grown up versions of us, rather than there being a stark parent-child differentiation. I guess that’s something that happened in the last generation or so, and I’m all for it. Fun discussions and relaxing with coffee and cheesecake – what a wonderfully well spent evening.

A lovely day on the lake

Amanda Mosely and her harp - sorry I botched the picture. It was a shot-from-the-hip random moment.
Haha, I just remembered what Augustine called the evening – “Meet the Parents”.
Ending a crazy semester
So, this trip is my graduation gift to a very interesting 4 year stint at the University of Texas at Austin. My friends Samarth and Jinu are my company on this once in a lifetime thing – we’ve had a mad crazy last semester (although it was busier than I wanted it to be). We attended the Orange and White Ball earlier this semester and this is what came of it: (that would be Samarth in the middle)

Fun stuff
Like I said earlier, interesting semester. I am just finishing up some really crappy work and finals end in another 4 days. More posts then!
Hello world!
Just a test run for this blog! Hopefully I will keep myself motivated enough to keep posting to this as our tip continues… as I said on the About page, this is meant to be my (our?) journal for the South America trip this summer! Keep checking back and I will keep you posted.
